Girls night out

Livi and I had a girls night this evening and it was so fun! We went and bought some shoes, then I took her to the Disco Kids Debut in Sumner. It's a photography studio owned by the wonderful Stacy Jacobson. The last Friday of ever month they have a themed costume dance party for kids. This months theme was super hero's. I was going through Ian's clothes and he had a Super man shirt which was 6-12 month size I stretched it and put it on Livi. She looked so cute! She had a blast a few of my Friends were there with their kids as well. She was shy at first then opened up and was dancing all over the place. It took forever to get her out of the studio she didn't want to leave. Afterwards we stopped by Indulge Cupcake (The cupcake house according to Livi) we each got a cupcake and hot chocolate. It was so nice being able to spend time with Livi, just us girls. Since she had such a blast I think we'll be going every month.

Smile :)

My goal this week was to get a photo of Ian smiling since he's doing it all the time now. Well I did! Not a huge smile but it's still a smile. Plus check out those chubby cheeks he's getting. Little man will be 2 months old next week insane! Smile :)

7 weeks

<~ Can you believe this sweet little boy is already 7 weeks old? I sure can't! I'm very pleased to announce that my baby boy has officially slept through the night for 8 days now! He goes down between 11pm or midnight then doesn't wake up until a little after 6am. We change him, feed/burp then he's back to bed for another 3-4 hours. I must admit I've been pretty lucky having two kids who slept through the night early on and are all around easy babies. Over the last four days Gidian has been smiling a ton at us. At first he'd only smile for Matt but now he's smiling at me and his big sister. I haven't caught a smile on camera yet but I'm determined to have one to share by next week. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Photo Walk

I've been wanting to get back into photography for a while now since I kind of put it on the back burner while I was pregnant. In other words I was just to lazy to get off my butt and actually charge the batteries to my DSLR or to get it fixed I'm having problems with the flash. Or I should start saving all my tips so I can upgrade my Canon Rebel Xti to the Canon 5D Mark II ohh how I want that camera! Anyway last night my friend Keren told me about the Iheartfaces photo walk across America. Keren, my friend Trina and I will all be attending the Seattle version of the walk which will be held in 20 different cities on June 5th. We'll be touring some fantastic spots in down town Seattle. There will be models, and the leader will be sharing tips on location shooting. Then we'll end the walk at the Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch. I'm looking forward to it. Should be a good time and couldn't come at a better time since I've been wanting to dust my camera off. Time to put away the convenient point and shoot.

Mama got more ink!

I've been wanting to go get Gidian's name and birth date tattooed on my left wrist ever since he was born so today I did. My dad ran down to Auburn with me to get it done while my mom watched both the kids. I love how it turned out! Will be my last tattoo since we don't want anymore kids and I don't know anything else besides my kids names I'd want on my body.

6 hours straight

I have great news to share with all of you! The last two nights in a row Ian has gone to bed around 10 pm and waking up between 4 and 4:30 am. 6 hours straight (insert happy dance ohh yeah) he then eats and goes back to bed for another 3-4 hours. I would like to say that I have enjoyed this much needed stretch of sleep but I haven't. Another cold has been sweeping through our house hold. So far only Matt and Livi have got it. Knock on wood Ian and I don't get it. So while Ian has been snoozing away at night I've been up with Livi on and off. So fingers crossed this is the start to him getting closer to sleeping through the night!

Livi and her snuggie

About a month ago Livi decided my snuggie was officially her property. She sleeps with it every night and when ever I try to use it while sitting on the couch she steals it away. I've been wanting to get her one of her own since they make the kid sized ones now, but never wanted to spend the money on one. Today while shopping with the kiddos at Target they had all their snuggies on sale for 50% off got it for $7.50 we lucked out they had one of the kids sizes in pink left. So hopefully not that she has her own I will get mine back.

1 month check up

Ian had his one month check up today. His pediatrician was on vacation last week so he couldn't get in until today. I'm happy to say my little man is healthy and looks great!
1 month stats
weight 12 lbs 5 oz (9 lbs 1 oz at birth)
height 23" (20.5" at birth)
Head circumference 14 3/4" (14" at birth)
He is in the 90th percentile for his height and in the 75-90th percentile for his weight. Got his second Hep B vaccine and screamed his little head off. It's always hard watching my babies get shots.

Zoo day

Matt and I both had the day off today. The weather was beautiful so we decided to take the kids up to Woodland Park Zoo this afternoon. Ian slept pretty much the whole time we were there. Alivia had so much fun! Her favorite animals were the Kangaroos and the flamingos. It was dinner time on our way home so we stopped by South Center Mall and went to the Rainforest Cafe. We'd never been there before, but thought Livi would get a kick out of it. We sat at a table near the elephants she thought it was cool when they moved and made noise. It was a fun restaurant a little to over priced in my opinion but she enjoyed it so that's all that matters to me.

1 month

Gidian's first month just flew by! Poor little guy came down with a horrible case of baby acne over the last few days (you can kind of tell in the photo) It's starting to clear up, but it's all over his cheeks, chin, ear and neck. Guess it's pretty common and usually occurs when they are around a month old and will last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Livi never had it so at first I was freaked out wasn't sure if he was having some sort of allergic reaction to something. His pediatrician is on vacation this week so he'll have his one month check up next week. I'm eager to see how much he weighs now. My boy is starting to chunk up. I'm thinking he'll be at least 11 lbs but we'll see. I think at Alivia's one month check up she was 12 lbs I'd have to go look in her baby book to be sure, but I think that's right.
I've been doing well with Matt back at work. I can handle the night time with two kids by myself. Gidian's having issues with his night time schedule so mommy is very tired and cranky come morning, but I'm managing. I've been reading a book a friend gave me called 'Becoming baby wise' and it teaches you how to establish a night time routine with your baby among other things so today I started they're technique which during the day consists of changing baby, feeding baby, play/wake time then nap, repeat...then in the evening you change baby, feed put right to sleep. So we'll see if my keeping him awake more during the day helps out any tonight.

4 weeks

I honestly can't tell you how fast the last 4 weeks have gone. Where in the world did they disappear to? On Monday Gidian will be a month old! This week has been pretty difficult in the evening especially. He's up all night long, eating every 2 hours and wanting to be held. The last two nights Matt's stayed up with him until about 6am giving me a large chunk of z's then he goes to bed and by that time Ian's ready to sleep I sneak in a few more hours. Why didn't we do the swap like this before? Now I'm kicking myself considering tonight is my last night with help. Tomorrow I'm on my own with both kiddos for the whole night since Matt goes back to work. I'm not to worried though, I know I can handle it. I really need to start keeping the baby up some during the day not letting him snooze as much, but with Livi it's just so easy to let him sleep so I can tend to what ever she needs. Hopefully if I can keep him up more he'll get his nights and days figured out and will be sleeping through the night sometime soon.
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter! We're going to spend the afternoon with my family, have lunch and they're going to set up an egg hunt for Livi. Should be fun!
