Teething sucks....

On top of Ian coming down with the cold Livi and I got while on vacation he's teething big time. He was still wide awake and restless at 4am this morning. I felt in his mouth and he had four teeth break through in the last 24 hours. No wonder he was so crabby yesterday, I thought it was from the cold, but I think it has to do with his teeth more then anything. Took him long enough to get his teeth in and now I bet they'll all come in at once. Hopefully we'll all be feeling 100% by his party on Saturday.

26th Birthday

Yesterday was my 26th birthday! I had the day off and Matt's on vacation so we went out with a bunch of my friends to celebrate. My parents are awesome and watched the kiddos for us. We went to my sister's work for dinner where she hooked me up with some birthday drinks and some yummy food. Her boyfriend was pulling a shift and got to deliver his first baby last night so he wasn't able to join us. It was nice to go out and hang with my friends it's been a long time since I've been able to do that. I had a fabulous birthday, thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with me!

Colorado

On Saturday the kids and I flew to Denver with my parents, sister and her man, Roger. I was nervous about the flight (Ian cried almost the whole flight to Phoenix in November) my sweet little boy was fast asleep before we even took off and woke up just before we descended. It was great visiting with family while we were there. It had been a few years since seeing my grandparents, my sister and her husband, Justin. Unfortunately on Monday Livi, my dad and myself came down with a nasty cold. Fever, cough, sore throat. You name it, we had it. So I spent Monday cooped up in the hotel with the kids. We flew home to the snow on Wednesday afternoon. Once again Ian slept the whole flight, which made me happy since I felt so crummy.

Lazy weekend

Nothing to exciting going on this weekend. Feels nice to just relax and veg out with the kids. Next weekend the kids and I will be flying to Colorado with my parents, my sister and her boyfriend. We'll be there for five days. Takes a lot of planning to pack for the kids and I hope to get to it tonight. Well start packing anyway. Here's some photos of Livi & Ian from the past couple days. I took Ian out this afternoon and got some photos of him for his birthday invites. They turned out alright, I don't have photo shop on my laptop so I had to edit them with what I had. He's pretty darn cute.

This evening when I got home from work Gidian took his first unassisted steps. I was sitting on the step that goes up to the dining room and he let go of the couch and walked over to me it was 6 steps. He's taken a step or two here and there, but that was the most he'd done so far on his own. I got out my camera to video tape him. Here's the best video I got tonight. Hopefully I can get more in the next few days.

11 months

Eleven months, can I just saw WOW? In one month we'll be celebrating Gidian's first birthday and the thought of that just blows my mind! Gidian's birthday party is planned and will be on his actual birthday since it falls on a Saturday.

What my little man is doing lately:

* Wearing 24 month clothes now.

* Size 5 diapers, size 6 at bed time he's a tummy sleeper and the 6 diapers keep him drier through the night.

* First tooth is finally starting to make an appearance.

*Loves to eat finger foods! Gidian's favorite are eggs, chopped up bananas and grilled cheese.

*Down to one nap during the day anywhere from 30 mins- 2 hours.

*Sleeps 8-11 hours at night.

*Started playing peek-a-boo

*Babbles all the time, but hasn't really said any words.

*climbs stairs

*Can go from crawling to standing up with out holding on to anything.

*Stands for long periods of time and tries to walk not holding on to anything.

*Can walk all around the furniture

*Throws fits when he doesn't get his way.

Haircuts

I debated for a few hours today on whether or not to take the kids up to my work and cut their hair. I knew it had to be done, we're doing family photos/ Ian's first b-day photos next week and then we're heading to Colorado on the 19th of this month. After we all took a nap we headed to the salon and got them trimmed up. Ian got his Mohawk back and I gave Livi and inverted bob. Both my kiddos have fab new hair cuts!

Our new salon opened up this morning. It was a long month of getting everything together, but it looks amazing! Totally different look then what we had at the original location. I made up a few collages of before and after photos. There's still some things that need to be completed, but at least we're open for business.

We have a huge room located at the back of the new salon that we're using for storage right now. We were throwing tons of ideas around with what to do with the space. I threw out the idea of turning it into a kids birthday party room. In the next few months will transform the space into a fun room where we'll offer different birthday packages : Princess parties, spa parties, tea parties etc.. for little girls. We'll do their hair, some make-up, nails. Have lots of dress up options, arts and crafts. There isn't anything like that in our area. Livi is already excited about her princess birthday party at the salon next year.
