Big girl

I am please to announce Livi has been doing amazing with going on the potty! I'm so happy she finally got over her fear of the 'big potty'. Since Monday we've only had 4 accidents. Tomorrow we'll take our first outing (other then to grandma and grandpa's) and see how she does. Since she's taken so well to potty training I signed her up for ballet this afternoon. Through the parks and recreation program in our town. Classes start next week. It's a 6 week course and they have a recital at the end. Livi is so excited about it. I'll be taking lots of photos and videos to share with you all.

Woo Hoo!

I got the best text message this evening on my way home from work. I was at a stop light after my cell informed me of my new message so I check it. It was from Matt and said 'Yeah Livi went potty!' Finally tonight she went on the 'big potty' she's been scared of it and wouldn't go, but she did tonight, three times! Woo hoo!!! She was so excited about it which made me happy. Matt and I made it a real big deal that she did it, which made it more fun for her. Matt and I each have I-touches and smart phones with game downloaded on to them. Livi likes to play angry birdies while sitting on the potty. After dinner I took her over to my parents house they gave her some goodies and congratulated her. Diaper deal

I feel like I've been slacking in the updating lately. Hopefully after the next few days we'll all be feeling 100% again. On Saturday I went to a walk-in clinic at my doctors office. I've had a cough for over a month and it kept getting worse so Matt wanted me to get it checked out. Turns out I have bronchitis. Monday I took Gidian to the doctors to get checked out. He had a runny nose for over a week and wouldn't go away. With my bronchitis and Livi's strep/ear infection I wanted to make sure he didn't have anything else. Good news was all her had was a cold, bad news nothing we can do about it. Thankfully everyone is starting to feel better. Fingers crossed this is the last cold we endure for a while.

This evening after work I stopped by Safeway, because we needed baby wipes. I glanced at the diapers while walking down the aisle and had to double take on the Luv's brand that we buy. The price tag said: $15.99 down to $12. 96 then club card price $6.69. Needless to say I bought all they had in the size we needed. Usually I pay $16.99 at Target for a box of 66 diapers. These were $6.69 for a pkg of 40. Matt's going to check his work today and see if they have the same deal going on. I was pretty stoked about that my savings.

Ear infection/ Strep throat

I haven't updated to much lately because we're all sick again. (Well not Matt, but the kids and I) Ian seems to be doing a lot better, just a really runny nose. Poor lil' man. Livi said her mouth hurt on Wednesday night I looked around in her mouth and couldn't see anything that would be causing her discomfort. Later that night my throat was killing me and realized that's probably what she meant about her mouth hurting. This afternoon she wasn't feeling good so I took her to the doctor. Little lady has her first ever ear infection and strep throat. So ten days of antibiotics and she should be feeling better. I'd rather take Ian to the doctors any day over Livi. She was horrible freaked out when they tried taking her blood pressure and her temperature. I had to pin her to the table so they could swab her nose and throat. No fun let me tell you. Not to thrilled about being there

New bed

Alivia's new bed arrived this afternoon, right before nap time. Sleep Country set it up and were out of our house is ten minutes. I had washed her new bedding earlier in the day so it would be ready after they left. Her bed frame is a lot like ones my sister and I had growing up. Livi loves her new bed. I must admit it's rather comfortable, I took a nap with her this afternoon.

I love Target

I always am able to find some sort of deal when I shop at our local Target. Yesterday Matt and I took Livi to Sleep Country and let her pick out a new bed frame and got a new mattress. So this evening I took the kids to Target to get her bedding, so we'll be set after the bed is delivered/set up tomorrow. I got her an adorable bedding set on clearance for $14 originally it had been $60. Score go me! Can't wait to get her room put together tomorrow. She's so excited about her new 'Big' girl bed.

1 year check up

Gidian had his one year well baby check up this morning. He was really good until it came to getting his shots. Poor lil' man had to get 4 of them. That's never fun. One more round of shots at 18 months then he'll be good until kindergarten.

One year stats:

Weight: 26 lbs 2 oz ~ 90th percentile

Length: 30 1/4" ~ 90th percentile

head circumference: 18 1/2"

He's grown a lot in a year.

Birth stats:

Weight: 9 lbs 4 oz

Length: 20 1/2"

Head circumference: 14 1/2"

Gidian got a clean bill of health which always makes mommy and daddy happy.

What he's up to at one year:

*Wears size 5 diapers and size 6 at night. (He's a belly sleeper so the bigger diapers keep him dry)

* Clothes mostly 24 months but can fit into some 18 month clothes

*Size 5 shoes

*He has four teeth! About time they start to show up.

*Clapping and loves to play peek-a-boo

*Walking everywhere! He loved to chase his sister and the dog.

*Sleeps 10 + hours at night. I'm sure he'd sleep a little longer if his sister didn't wake him up.

*One 2 hour nap a day. On a rare occasion he'll take a second nap, but not to often.

* Bottles and formula are gone. Drinking whole milk out of a sippy cup.

*Loves to eat "real" food. Some of his favorite foods are: banana's, grilled cheese, eggs, applesauce, yogurt, oatmeal, potato salad, spaghetti, string cheese.

Still can't believe my baby is one!

Birthday party

Happy 1st Birthday my sweet little boy!

First Birthday blues...

One year ago today I was HUGE! Day before my induction 39 weeks

Tomorrow is Gidian's first birthday as excited as I am to celebrate the day with our family and friends, I have a case of the first birthday blues. Maybe it's because he's my last baby and that's why I'm feeling this way. I finished the photo montage for his birthday party tonight and I was in tears by the end of it. Feels like I was just holding him for the first time and now he's walking and into everything.

I have lots to do today for his party tomorrow: cooking, cleaning, decorating. So check back late Saturday night or Sunday morning for photos and video clips from my baby boy's 1st birthday party!
