Sick baby

Alivia came down with her first cold on Tuesday night. Poor baby I felt so bad for her! She was so stuffed up, her nose was running like crazy and coughing. I think that night her and I got maybe 2 hours of sleep. Wednesday she was crabby all day but that night she was laughing and having a good old time and slept for 8 hours which was nice since I started getting sick that night. I had today off we just relaxed, it was nice out which made it hard I wanted to go enjoy the sunshine but we stayed in our jammies and slept all day. We're both feeling alot better thankfully. Let's hope daddy doesn't get sick. He doesn't have a day off until he goes on vacation in a week.

First trip to the ocean

Since Matt has the week off and I was able to get a 4 day weekend we headed to Aberdeen on Sunday to visit with Adrian and Bethany. It was our first little road trip as a family. I think the longest Livi has been in the car. Outside of Olympia she started to get fussy I pulled over and Matt sat in the back with her and she was happy as could be. We got there in alittle under 2 hours and headed out to West Port to see the ocean. Alivia slept pretty much the whole time but we woke her up for photos.

Monday we slept in and spent the early afternoon in Aberdeen then later in the day headed to Ocean Shores. We went to the beach Alivia was awake this time. It started to rain so we drove down to see where Adrian and Bethany bought their new place. We had dinner in Ocean Shores then headed back home that evening. It was nice to get away for a night.

I would have to say this weekend was probably one of the best ever. It was great being able to spend all my time with Alivia and Matt, it's hard during the week and with Matt working nights so it was nice to have all this family time. I really enjoy being able to do all the firsts with Livi and I look forward to many many more.

Mud Mountain dam

Real quick I just wanted to post some photos from this evening up at Mud Mt. Dam we had a great time enjoyed the sunshine. Well I have to go pack for our trip to the ocean tomorrow.

First time to the zoo!

This morning Alivia went to the zoo for the first time! It was so much fun. She slept the whole way there then was awake until we hit the gift shop on the way back to the car. It was around 80 degrees when we got there, perfect in my opinion. We enjoyed the beluga whales and took her on the carousel. We left around 1:30 pm it was starting to get busy by then and it was around 95 degrees.
Alivia is now taking a nap and once her and daddy wake up we're going to go up to Mud Mt. dam to get some fresh air our house is pretty hot at the moment. I'll post photos from the park later tonight enjoy the sunshine!

Sitting up unassisted

It was such a nice day today we decided to get out and enjoy the sunshine! Matt, Livi, Lexi and I got in the car and headed up to Mud. Mountain Dam we got there and it was closed. So we went to a park right down the road from the salon. Matt took Lexi on a walk when we got there and I laid Livi out on one of our blankets. I sat her up to see if she would sit up so I could take a few picture of her. To my suprise she sat up on her own for quite sometime before falling backwards. I was so excited! Every time I would sit her up she'd stay my baby girl is getting so big! Tomorrow is suppost to be really warm as well so I took the whole weekend off so we're taking Alivia to the zoo then on Sunday we're heading to Aberdeen/Ocean Shores to visit with Adrian and Bethany. A fun filled weekend!

Mother's day

Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever...
Today was my first mother's day. Well last mother's day I was pregnant so I guess in a way that counts. We did our traditional breakfast at my parent's like we do every year I was so so excited all week about it. My dad makes everyone waffles with strawberries and whipped cream yummy! We spent the afternoon at home I was able to take a long nap while Matt took care of Livi, then we headed back to my parent's house for dinner. Matt had to work tonight so we headed home I was able to enjoy a quick bath before he left then Alivia and I went to bed early. It was a great day I love being Alivia's mommy, it's the greatest gift in the world!

Don't blink..

So I was driving around yesterday and I was listening to the radio when 'Don't blink' by Kenny Chesney came on. It got me to thinking about how quickly these first 6 months of Alivia's life have flown by. When I was pregnant everyone told me that once Alivia was born everything would flash before my eyes. I didn't believe any of them because my pregnancy seemed to be an eternity. So now that she is 6 months old I decided to make an actually blog opposed to the baby site I have for her. This way I can post more and add more photos. The first six months of her life I really didn't document a whole lot. I took tons of photos and filled out little things here and there in her baby book but I figure this way I can go more in depth about the little things she does that makes our hearts melt and places the huge grins on our faces. I'm going to try and post a new entry and photos every couple of days so check back often.
