Log show

The weekends not over, but so far it's been pretty jam packed. Matt and I both had Friday off so my mom watched Gidian so we could take Livi to see Cars 2 at the movie theater. She's been eager to see the movie for months. She loves everything Cars related. It was a cute movie. After the previews they did a short Toy Story movie which was really funny. Livi was very excited about that since she loves Toy Story as well. After the movie I went out with my girlfriends for drinks and dinner. It was nice to sit, chat without being interrupted.

I went into work briefly this morning to do an updo for a bridal party then snuck out after to take Livi to the Log Show parade. The last weekend in June our town has the annual Buckley Loggers Rodeo. They do the parade, street fair, carnival and of course all the events for the loggers. It's something fun most the town turns out for. After the parade we went home, ate lunch and took a nap. Then both kids and I walked back over and checked everything out in town. We finished the day off with some yard work and a yummy dinner. I feel like the weekend is over since we've done so much, but we still have tomorrow. Wonder what the day will hold?

Getting ready to ride her bike

Hello, Summer

We couldn't have asked for a better first day of summer. However I think mother nature thinks she's being funny, on Tuesday we reached almost eighty then on Wednesday we were raining and back in the sixties. I doubt we'll ever have a 'real' summer this year. Lots of rain in the forecast next week as well. Fingers are crossed for a sunny 4th of July.
On Monday my mom and I ran to Target to get Livi's new bike and helmet. She finally mastered pooping on the potty (Insert fist pump woo hoo!) On Tuesday we went over to my parents for a while and my dad said he'd put the bike together for her. Livi was so excited and helped grandpa when ever she could. The sun was setting and it was almost bedtime so she didn't get to ride it to much. Her bike came with a set of little traffic cones, we set them up and Gidian kept running down the street snatching them and piling them up all together. He's so quick now days, running all over the place. He figured out how to get out of the baby gate so he thinks he's pretty cool when he escapes. He gets this smirk on his face like 'ohh yea, check me out'.

Father's day

Happy Father's day to my wonderful and amazing husband, Matt and my dad! We love you both the moon and back!
Hope everyone else had a great Father's day weekend. Ours was pretty low key, mostly due to the crummy weather. Today we were all wearing jeans and sweatshirts. At one point I even threw my Ugg boots on when running some errands. Can't believe summer is next week and it feels more like fall. We relaxed at home today, Matt worked last night so he slept in. Then we went over to my parents for dinner. We BBQ'd burgers and made Seattle dogs (hot dogs, sauteed onions and cream cheese yum!) then for dessert we had s'mores.

I found a little frog between our house and my parents and brought it over for Livi to see.

Feather extensions

The newest craze in hair lately is feather extensions. Rooster feathers are dyed and are being used to add dimension and fun to hair. We decided last weekend feather extensions were something we wanted to offer our clients. Took a few days to get approved to buy whole sale, but we finally got our hands on these hot new accessories. The feathers can be washed, dried, curled and flat ironed and can last in hair up to 6 months depending on client care.

I was showing Livi the feathers online one morning and she said she wanted one. So when the shipment came in we went to the salon and she picked out a purple one. I'm rocking two hot pink and a lime green. Ready to get her feather extension
All done

Circus

A few weeks ago I heard about a Circus coming to our little town. Since nothing like that ever really happens here in Buckley I wanted to take Alivia. After talking it over with Matt we both decided since we were still trying to get her to poop on the potty that would be a reward. If she pooped by Friday we'd take her to the Circus. So Friday arrives and still no poop in the potty. I had the day off and was running a bunch of errands. The Big Top was set up in a field next to the coffee stand I frequent (a lot). So while waiting for my coffee Friday morning Livi was able to see the Circus set up. She begged to go and I told her like I had all week, if she went poop we'd go. Well we got home and she pooped not once, but twice on the potty!!!! Matt and I were beyond thrilled and she was so excited about it. We celebrated by taking the family to the Circus. There were two show times so we went to the earlier one that way we wouldn't interfere with bedtime. There were some some really neat acts, lions and tigers. Half way through the show there was an intermission and Gidian was not feeling it. Poor guy has all his molars coming in now. We left then and got Livi some sweet treats at the store to continue to celebrate her accomplishment.

Thumbs up I pooped (TWICE)

OFFICIAL Breaking Dawn Trailer On MTV Movie Awards (HD) 05.06.2011

Don't mind me as I release my inner fan girl for a moment (Squeal) I can't wait until November 18th. Breaking Dawn Part 1 trailer was released today.

First weekend in June

We had a fun, busy and sunny weekend! Couldn't have asked for better weather. We were in the high seventies Friday and Saturday and over cast and about seventy today.

Matt had Friday night off so we took the kiddos to the park to play that evening. Saturday I worked then once I got home Matt did some yard work and we spent the rest of the evening outside. I bought Livi a slip 'n slide earlier in the day and Matt set it up for her. She was so excited about it and when it came time to play she wasn't having it. Matt grabbed her and tossed her down it. The look on her face when she slide through the water was priceless. I wish I had caught it on video. My dad was catering an event Saturday night so my mom came over and we BBQ'd and made s'mores.

Today the kids actually slept in to my surprise. Unfortunately I had to wake them so we could get some shopping done for a baby shower my mom and I were attending later in the day. We stopped by Sugar Babies in Sumner (super cute baby boutique)Livi was immediately drawn to a cute stuffed elephant so my mom bought it for her. They have the cutest things in that store. I wish I could afford to buy all the kids clothes and accessories there. This afternoon we celebrated the soon to be arrival of Miss. Stella Rose. My mom's good friend, Corinne's daughter is expecting her first. Kristina looks so adorable pregnant and I couldn't be more excited for her. Five more weeks until her estimated delivery date. After the shower we went to my parents and had dinner. A perfect way to end a great weekend!
