Baby kicks and Livi Pics

Tonight while watching The Biggest Loser (love that show!) I felt the baby kick for the first time. I've been feeling movement for a few weeks now but today was an actual kick. What a great way to end a day! Also wanted to post a few photos of Livi playing in her car Sunday night.

16 week check up

I had my 16 week check up this morning. Had my blood drawn for the Quad Screen test. Everything looks good blood pressure, weight I gained 1 pound in the last month but I think that may have to do with the fact it was freezing so I put on a sweatshirt and tennis shoes and left both on while I was weighed. Baby's heart rate was at 156 I always love being able to hear my baby's heartbeat such a reassuring sound. My OB noticed my stuffy/runny nose and asked me if I'd been feeling sick or if any co-workers/family/friends have been sick lately I told him yes so for precautionary reasons I have to take Tami Flu for the next 5 days.

Mullet

My sweet little Livi has a total mullet! She was sitting on my lap this evening I was laughing so hard I had to take a photo to share with you all. She's all business in the front and party in the back. Hopefully the sides will start to grow in.
I have a OB appt tomorrow get to hear baby's heartbeat! Then I have to get blood drawn ugh.. doing the Quad Screen test to check for Downs Syndrome etc...

16 weeks

Baby is the size of an avocado this week. He or she is getting eyelashes, taste buds, and for the first time, baby may be able to hear my voice as the bones in baby's teeny ears form. Gender can be confirmed by this point but I have to suffer 3 more weeks until we find out for sure.

How far along? 16 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? Got on the scale yesterday still no weight gain

Stretch marks? Nothing new
Maternity clothes? Got the dress I mentioned a few weeks ago. Picked it up tonight and love it! With the Holidays and a wedding this winter it will get lots of wear. Plus I scored at Target today and got 2 maternity t-shirts for $3.24 each originally $13.99 woo hoo! I love clearance racks!

Baby movement? Little movement now and again :)

Food Cravings? Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb well drink craving anyway. Mexican has been a big one this week yummy!

Food Aversion? nothing this week :)

Belly Button? Still in

Halloween Costume

Little Miss. Livi is going to be a Pirate this year! Found her costume while shopping at Target tonight. We originally wanted her to be Tinker Bell, but with the weather up here around Halloween she'd freeze her butt off and we'd have to bundle her in a coat and it would hide her costume. So with the pirate I can dress her in layers. Here's a photo of what her costume looks like I love it!

Starting fall out right!

What a fabulous way to start the first day of fall, got up to 87 degrees in our area! I'm sure it will be the last time we see highs like that until next summer. I love fall, not so much the cold that will be arriving shortly but the colors of the leaves, Starbucks drinks, fall TV shows that have started up again and let me tell you I have at least a show on every night of the week if not two or three. Thank God for DVR!
I'm really curious now about that gender kit, my dad's, co-worker's, wife took one said she was having a girl and she found out today they're having a boy. Only two people I know that the results were wrong for so we'll see only three more weeks! I'm going to finish this off with a few photos of Livi tonight I took with my cell her feeding her baby doll.

Gender Prediction Kit Results

The kit says we're having a boy! The urine would have turned a orange color if it was a girl. Now only 3 1/2 weeks until we find out for sure. It's supposedly over 90% accurate I wanted to do it for fun and see if it's right. What do you all think? Everyone thinks it's a boy but I still have a feeling the baby might be a girl :)

15 weeks

Baby is the size of an orange but is already deciding if he/she will be a blonde, brunette, or redhead. Joints are functioning in all of baby's limbs, and he/she is supposedly kicking me, but so far all I can feel is little fluttering movement at times.

How far along? 15 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? Got on the scale last night and still have not gained a single pound which surprises me since I've been eating like a pig!

Stretch marks? I noticed the start of a new one blah...

Baby movement? still only a little fluttering I didn't feel Livi start to kick until around 17 or 18 weeks

Food Cravings? It's been everything this week. I had that crazy craving for chocolate covered bacon but I've also been on a kick for potato wedges dipped in BBQ sauce ohh and Emily's Beer Sausage was fabulous I need to make some maybe next week yummy!

Food Aversion? nothing has been that bad this week come to think of it

Belly Button? Still in

I did give in today and I bought a gender prediction test so I'll be taking it in the morning I'll post with the results I get.

Gender Prediction kit

I'm trying to decide if I should spend the money one of these days and buy a Boy or Girl Gender Prediction test. They claim to be 90% accurate. I have talked to a few of my pregnant clients who have tried it and the results were accurate with what they were told at their ultrasound. So tonight Matt and I were watching The Doctors on ABC and they had two pregnant women in the audience take the test each already knew the gender of their baby and the results from the prediction test was correct for both of them. I want to do it for fun just to see if my results will be right. Ugh October 14th can't get here soon enough I just want to know boy or girl! I will keep you posted if I decide to try the prediction test I'm sure I'll give in a do it :)

This morning Livi and I met up with Trina and Kylen to take some photos of the kiddos. Trina got some great shots and me...not so much. Just wanted to share a few enjoy :) I was excited to dress Livi in her pettiskirt it finally fits her it was so big when I purchased it! I loved watching her run around in it so cute! Then the icing on the cake tonight MTV aired the new trailer to New Moon. I found it online earlier in the week but MTV threw in a few pieces that weren't added into the one I saw. It looks amazing I can't wait until it comes out Nov. 20th already picked up tickets for the midnight showing!

Chocolate covered bacon

Yes, you read the tile to the blog correctly and let me start out by saying chocolate covered bacon is amazing! I was talking to my friend last night on the phone and she mentioned it. At first I was like hmm.. interesting but didn't give it another thought until laying in bed at 1am starving. I was trying to think about something I could snack on and all I could think about was choc. covered bacon. I called my brother and asked him tips on how to make it since he's a chef. I couldn't fall asleep until after 2am because it was all I could think about my mouth was literally watering in bed! At work today I ran over to the store and picked up everything I needed. I put it all together when I got home and was very impressed! I did use turkey bacon, but I think it would taste better with pork since it's a little more salty, give it the sweet/salty vibe. Livi tried a piece as well and seemed to like it, but I'm sure it was the chocolate that sparked her interest more then the bacon. I don't know what it is with this pregnancy but I'm having insane cravings I never ate anything that off the wall while preggo with Livi.

Pot Roast craving

(Yes i'm a dork and took a photo with my cell)
So with my insane craving for pot roast over the last like 10 days I finally decided I'd make my own. I always thought it would be to hard but it was so simple and it turned out perfect might I add! I gave myself a pat on the back and treat myself to a much deserved nap after dinner tonight. I have tons of leftovers to which I'm all giddy about. Woo Hoo one more thing I have conquered in the kitchen!

9-11-01 Where were you?

Let us not forget.

Let us not forget those fallen in the attacks and the aftermath. Let us not forget those left behind. Let us not forget the men and women who are serving around the world.

Let us not forget that this incident, while tragic, is not one we have to live with everyday. Please remember to pray for those around the world for whom terror attacks like this are an everyday occurrence.

I saw this on Facebook today a survey of such asking people where were you on Sept. 11th 2001.

I was sleeping in my comfortable bed, possibly dreading another day at school. I was sixteen a junior in high school. I woke to the phone ringing and hearing my mom start freaking out once she answered. I tried to catch a few more minutes of sleep then jumped out of bed when she started yelling something about the second tower being hit. I asked her what happened and she told me the World Trade Center had been hit both towers. I did not know at the time what the World Trade Center was. I peeled my eyes away from the news to get ready from school. In each of my classes we spent the hour and half watching the news and talking about the events that were unfolding from the day.

14 weeks

How far along? 14 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? Haven't got on the scale this week

Stretch marks? Still only what Livi left behind

Baby movement? Little bit of fluttering feeling here and there can't wait for the kicks :)

Food Cravings? POT ROAST, POT ROAST and MORE POT ROAST! It's all I want to eat and the only thing I've been thinking about all day. My mom was wonderful and made me pot roast on Monday and today one of my co-workers brought me some too. I plan on making it for dinner tomorrow so yummy!

Food Aversion? Anything sweet, strange I know. I bought a coconut cream pie and I haven't had a single slice and I passed on a few different desserts the other night at my parents I don't know why but sugar doesn't sound appealing

Belly Button? Still in and I'm sure it will be for a few more months

Milestones? 1 trimester down two to go.

14 weeks belly shot took with my cell so the quality sucks!

So after going back and forth in my head since my last OB appt I decided I will be getting the swine flu vaccine when it is available. At first I wasn't sure because I felt like I'd be being used as a guinea pig, but this week I've read four stories of healthy pregnant women getting it and dying while in a coma. That scares the crap out of me so like my OB recommended I'll be getting the Swine flu and normal flu vaccine this year. Wont do my family any good if I'm not around. They're saying that pregnant women are the most susceptible to getting it. I've been a crazy person about washing my hands now and not touching my face. I wont even let Livi bring her favorite blanket into stores anymore I'm so worried about the stupid germs. I carry antibacterial wipes in my purse, in my car tons of hand sanitizer my poor hands are so dry from it all, but I'd rather be safe then sorry. I don't know yet if Livi will get the Swine Flu vaccine, she'll for sure get the flu shot as well as Matt. I need to talk to her pediatrician and see what he thinks.

'Big Ultra Sound' date

Between clients today I called my OB's office to set up my 2nd trimester ultrasound. They told me I could do it as early as Oct. 8th at my last appt which I was thrilled, but today they said the earliest they could do is Oct. 14th since the tech is only in on Wednesday now and they like to do it at 19 weeks if possible. I only have to wait six days longer to find out the gender of the baby. I'm still thinking it's girl but everyone else seems to think boy since I have felt great this pregnancy. Hopefully these next 6 weeks fly by and keeping our fingers crossed this 'Big U/S' will go smoothly and the baby will look healthy!
(Just for you Tiffany, I miss you lots!)

It's back...

Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back at Starbucks! I was very excited for September first to roll around so I could order my favorite drink. I have been so good and haven't had a coffee this whole pregnancy, but today I gave in and got one. I'm sure it wont be the last one they are so good! I'll try and limit myself to a couple a week and try to avoid the drive thru daily on my way to work. I think that's where all my weight gain with Livi came from the countless trips to Starbucks all the time. So I suggest going out and getting a pumpkin spice latte
mmm....
