I had my 34 week appt this afternoon. Everything went well Ian's heart rate was at 141. They drew blood to make sure I'm not anemic and I should get the results back sometime next week. My little guy seems pretty cozy in there, still in the footling breech position. If he hasn't flipped by my 36 week appt we're going to talk about doing an external version, which is a procedure where my OB would turn the baby from the breech position into the head down position. I've heard from many people it's extremely painful and there are many risks involved in doing this. I asked my OB about his 'success rate' in turning a baby and he said 80/20 which is pretty good in my book, but I think I'd rather just go through a c-section then risk anything crazy happening while trying to turn my little guy. I doubt he'll budge that easy if he's as big as his sister was. Knowing it's likely I may have to have a c-section this time around kind of freaks me out. The thought of laying awake while being cut open doesn't sound to appealing, but the idea of going in and a few hours after your arrive you already are holding your baby sounds nice. I guess the real thing that I'm worried about it recovery from a c-section my friend Bree had one last week and from what she tells me it's no fun. Matt will be taking five weeks off like he did when Livi was born which I'm grateful for it will be nice to have his help. Well keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer our little guy decides to flip.
How little Ian is positioned as of now
