4 year check up

Alivia had her 4 year well child check up this morning. (Our insurance always makes us do it 6 months after birthdays, so annoying!) She weighed in at 44 lbs 8 oz and was 44" tall. 95th percentile for weight and height. We talked all week about her appointment and she was aware she'd be getting a few shots. So she went into today being very brave. Unfortunately I was unaware that she'd have to get a finger stick to collect blood to test her iron and four vaccines, I thought she was getting only two. She was not thrilled. Livi got through the finger prick alright then lost it when it came time for her shots. We got through it though and she got a clean bill of health and she can officially go to school next fall now that she's had all her vaccines.
After her appointment I promised her if she was brave and did a good job I'd take her to get something special. A little bribing never hurt anyone right? She wanted an Icee and popcorn from Target. So we made a quick trip to Target afterward. After her treat we headed to the Elementary school she'll be attending next year and brought them her updated vaccine record. Then we stopped at the library to get some book before heading home.

Photo Session

Two weeks ago the kiddos had their photos taken by my friend, Jennifer. www.jennifertibbets.com We had a blast dressing Gidian up in super hero gear and Livi was adorable with all her accessorize. Both of them were total hams for Jennifer. I was very happy with how all the photos turned out and I'm having a hard time deciding what to get printed. Love my babies!

Mother's Day

I am so blessed to be the mom of Alivia and Gidian. They fill my life with so much love and happiness. The weather was amazing for mother's day. Got up to 80 or so and man do I have the sunburn to prove it. We spent the day at home, I was able to sleep in which was nice (thanks babe) then we spent all day outside. We played with bubbles, colored with chalk, kicked a ball around, threw Frisbees and after the kids took a nap we filled up their pool. Matt barbecued for dinner and we ate outside. Livi insisted we have a picnic, silly girl. It was a great way to spend my last day of vacation.

Cannon Beach May 11th

I was bummed to wake up on Friday our trip had officially came to an end. I still can't believe it was sunny the whole time we were there. We picked and amazing week to go to the Oregon Coast that's for sure. I doubt we'll ever be that lucky again, weather wise. After packing up we made a stop at my favorite little diner Pig 'N Pancake for breakfast and said out goodbyes from there. We filled up for gas and made a potty stop for Livi and Seaside and we on out way home. Gidian who was an angel the whole trip down was unhappy the whole way home. From Astoria to Tacoma he cried, whined and screamed. Then he fell asleep the last 30 minutes home, go figure.
I had a blast all week and I'm so happy we were finally able to figure out a time for us all to go on vacation together. There was talk of starting yearly family trips. Finger's crossed next year will be in Mexico for Shealun and Roger's wedding. That would be so fun!

Cannon Beach May 10th

Thursday morning we decided to walk down to the tide pools out at Haystack Rock . That day the tide was the lowest it had been all year. As soon as we got there Gidian grabbed a starfish and yanked it out of the water. Livi enjoyed touching anything she could and splashing through the pools. She even found a whole sand dollar while we were out there and took it back with us.
While the kids napped that afternoon I drove up to Seaside with Amanda, Justin we were on the search for a Christmas ornament with Haystack Rock on it. Shea, Roger and Jessica met us there and we spent time walking around the board walk and peeking in all the shops. Unfortunately we didn't find one. On the way home we drove South to pick up some more fire wood for another bonfire.
The bonfire was a blast. I don't think I have ever drank so much in my life. Livi stayed out at the fire until almost midnight and she still didn't want to go in. It was a great way to end our last night at the beach.

Dad and his girl's

Cannon Beach May 9th

Wednesday Matt, my dad, Amanda and Justin went on a 3 mile hike to an amazing look out that had the most incredible view. If I was the hiking type (which I'm totally not) I would have loved to go. My mom and I took the kids to Seaside and went grocery shopping. We were having salmon and steak that night. When everyone got back to the house after the various actives we headed to the beach and spent the rest of the day just relaxing. Late that night Shealun, Roger, Jessica and Jaidan showed up to spend the rest of the trip with us.
