All the girls at my work watch Biggest Loser. This season we decided to draw colors and each put $10 into a pool and who ever wins at the end of the season gets $100. Woo Hoo I won!!! Go Patrick!
After work I stopped by Walgreens and picked up a ginger bread house kit. Before Livi went to bed my brother came over and helped us decorate it. What a fun thing for her to do. She loved placing the candies all over the house. Unfortunately I didn't let it set long enough before we decorated it. After I snapped a few photos of the finished product the house collapsed. Better luck next year I guess.
Last night Matt and I decided we'd take the kids to see Santa in the morning. So after a hour and fifteen minute wait in line this morning the kids had their chance to sit on Santa's lap. Matt took Livi and walked the mall for a while to keep her occupied. I know most parents don't want their kids to cry on Santa's lap, but I would love to have a photo of my kids just freaking out. I think those are the best ones. I'm just not that lucky, Livi has always been all smiles and looks like Gidian is going to be the same. After photos we ran over to Costco so I could print out our photos and pick up our Christmas cards, which will be mailed out next week. We went to lunch then window shopped at Toys R Us. Livi kept pointing out the toy kitchens. Which excited me since we got her one. She's going to be so excited on Christmas morning!
Last night I took clippers home from work and gave Gidian his first hair cut. I was going to wait until closer to his first birthday, but his hair was starting to stick out over his ears and it drove me bonkers. So after cutting my mom's hair I had my sister hold Gidian while I gave him a Mohawk. He sat so still and didn't cry or anything. Such a big boy! Here's some photos of him getting his hair cut and other photos I took earlier in the day.
This morning Ian had his 9 month well baby check up. Note to self, never make an appointment on a Monday it was insane there! After getting a clean bill of health from our pediatrician we waited 20 mins for his Hep B vaccine. Usually the nurse is in right after the pediatrician to give the shot. Ian his right on track with everything he should be doing.
Started my Christmas shopping this morning. I wanted to get Livi a toy kitchen for Christmas this year. I found one online for $35 so my mom and I went up to South Hill this morning to pick it up. We also got the kids new outfits for their Santa photos which will be taken here pretty soon.
After nap time this afternoon Livi asked if we could put the tree up. I unburied the tree box in the garage and she helped by passing me branches. I was able to put lights on it, but couldn't find our ornaments. I looked everywhere, thankfully Matt found them before he went to work this evening. I added some ornament, but we'll save the majority for tomorrow night since Matt's off work and that way Livi can help. I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year. Livigets the concept of it so she'll have a blast! My partially decorated tree
Here's a way for our family and friends to keep up with our growing family. Alivia was born Nov. 9th 2007 and we just welcomed baby brother Gidian (Ian) to our family on March 5th 2010. Keep checking back we update often.
