2 1/2

Gidian had his 30 month check up on Friday. I cannot believe he is already 2 1/2. He's talking so much now and it's fun to listen to him and Livi talk to one another. Gidian weighs 36 lbs 2 oz and he is 40" tall. 95% percentile for his weight and over 95% for his height. We have some big, healthy kids around here. Besides the little cold he has (well we all have) Gidian is happy and healthy.

School update

I realized I never got around to posting these photos of Alivia on her first day of school.
We are about to start our third week of school and she is loving it. Livi's favorite part of the day is recess. She's been learning the alphabet in sign language and knows A-L as of right now. They learn a new letter every day. Every Friday we get a folder full of their work from the week and it's fun to go trough it all and talk about what she's learning about. I'm glad she's taken well to school and loves it.

Pre-K

Miss. Livi started school today! I can hardly believe we are to that point already. Wasn't she just in her infant car seat coming home from the hospital? She was so excited this morning. Livi didn't meet the birthday cut off for Kindergarten this year, but our district offers pre-k to kids who are just shy of the cut off. She goes 5 days a week from 9-11:40am. I hope she has an awesome first day. I'm counting down the minutes until I can pick her up and hear all about it!

Mother-Daughter tea party

In January I found a deal on Living Social for a mother-daughter tea party for $25 and snatched that up real quick, knowing it would be something Livi would love. We had until the end of August to attend so we went last Sunday. The tea party was held at A Simple Wish in Puyallup. They had crafts set up for all the girls, then Rapunzel came out and read them a few stories, sang songs and taught the girls a dance. Tea and treats were served and more dancing. We both had such a great time together. I love being able to do things alone with Livi one on one especially really girly things.

Happy Birthday Matt

On Matt's actual birthday (July 9th) he and I went away for the night. Brandon & Mandie stayed at our house and watched the kiddos for us. We had kept their son over night a few weeks prior. We spent the night in Tacoma at Hotel Murano. Such a nice place! The hotel was a few blocks away from The Rock, a restaurant we enjoy. Since the sun was out we walked down there and had a few drink and appetizers. It was nice to enjoy eating in peace and each other's company. Hotel Murano is a neat place, the inside is designed by different glass artists and 14 of the floors each have a display  of an art piece. It was neat walking around looking at everything. When I made the reservations it came with a gift card to the hotel's restaurant, Bite. It was so good! We pigged out and couldn't even finish all our food. For an appetizer we got these gravy covered fries with Gorgonzola cheese. Hands down one of the best things I have ever eaten. We'll definitely be going back again for a night away and I see many dinner dates at their restaurant.

Matt's 30th

Matt turned 30 on July 9th. Last Friday I threw him a party at our house. We had around 30 friends and family here to celebrate with us. It was fun actually throwing a summer/outdoor party for once, considering both the kiddos birthdays are in the fall/winter. The weather was awesome the day of his party. My parents and I got together and surprised Matt with an I-Pad he was pretty excited about that. Thanks so much to everyone who came out and celebrated with us.

4th of July

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
The Sunshine finally decided to show up (insert happy dance) and it looks like it is going to stick around until at least next Friday. They always say summer doesn't start in Washington until July 5th, but we've been lucky this year and last with fabulous weather. We went to our friend's house on Lake Tapps, like we do every year on the 4th. The kiddos enjoyed splashing around a bit in the water, we pigged out on so much food. This year our friend's, Brandon and Mandie came along with their son, Landon. It was nice being able to spend the holiday with them. We ended up staying at the lake until around 10:30pm then cut out before the fireworks ended so we could get on the road before everyone else. The kids were wore out and crashed right when we got home.
