How tragic...

When I got to work on Saturday morning some of the girls were talking about an incident that happened at the Monster Truck show at the Tacoma Dome. A little boy was hit with some flying metal debris that came off of one of the trucks. Tonight after dinner we were watching the news and they interviewed his father. I totally recognized the guy at first I couldn't place him then he was talking about his son, Sebastian. Then it hit me. I went to beauty school with Sebastian's mom. I remember when she was pregnant and when she brought him in for the first time. WOW I'm in shock how horrible I can't even imagine. My heart aches for that family. Please just keep them in your thoughts and prayers. He has a older brother whom I also remember seeing many times at school and 2 step sisters. I'm not sure what happened with his mom, Jessica they didn't interview her or talk about her. Here's the news article if you want to read it all. http://www.komonews.com/news/37801124.html#idc-container

Hello Sunshine!

YAY! 3 days worth of fog has worn off and we have sunshine! It was much needed. Nothing really that exciting going on with us this week. I do have a pretty funny story now. It wasn't funny at first but now I think it's hilarious. This morning I was getting ready to go pick up my dress for Shea's wedding and I heard Livi in the hall way doing something I peeked out a few times and she was playing with some toys. I heard Matt say something in a panicked tone so I looked out the door again to see him with Livi dangling by her ankle in his hand. She had knocked the gate down over our stairs and was going head first down the staircase but daddy caught her in time. Thankfully nothing bad happened to her but she had the biggest grin on her face and she was hanging by her ankle. Silly girl nothing scares her we both think she's going to love roller coasters and all that when she's older. Off to pick the dress up

Bring on the sunshine

It's been a few days since I posted. Luckily we didn't have any problems with the flood waters in our area. Matt, Livi and I headed out on Thursday morning to see how bad everything was around us. We drove up to Sky Island (a housing development that over looks the Sumner Valley) I was expecting to see a lot worse. You could see where there was some flooding, but from where we were it didn't look to bad thankfully. Friday we did some running around got the 15k tune up on our car and went out to lunch. The restaurant we went to had a fish tank and Alivia loved it! She was laughing at all the fish. I can't wait until we take her the Seattle Aquarium one of these days. She got the second boost to her flu shot on Friday as well. Poor baby she was not thrilled she knew what she was in for when Matt held her down. After her shot the nurse was filling out her vaccination card and she turned around and clicked her pen and Livi started to freak out. We all think she thought she was getting another shot. Yesterday I worked and we all just lounged around at home. After Livi went to bed I went out to the movies with my friend Arlene. Today was a low key day. We all slept in and just vegged until about 5pm then decided to venture out to the grocery store. That about sums up the rest of our week. The sun is said to come out this week and I couldn't be happier about that. It will be nice to warm up a bit and dry out. Have a great week! The Sumner valley

Going to get inked!

I've been wanting to get a tattoo for a while now. My sister went and got another one today. I told her I was still interested in getting one. So we agreed after she gets back from Mexico in February we are going to go together for my birthday gift from her! I always like the idea of getting my kid (hopefully kids only one more hehe) names tattooed around my ankle to look like an ankle bracelet. I knew I wanted a pretty script looking font and I was thinking about it a lot today and I came across a photo of Livi my friend, Trina took of her. She put Livi's name on it and I LOVE the font. It is classy and girlie in my opinion perfect for my baby girl. So I'm sold that's what I'm doing woo hoo. I can't wait so my tattoo will look like the writing in this photo just in black and just her first name. I don't want it really big either I plan on eventually separating the names with some sort of design, but I'm just getting her name for now. Come the end of February I will officially be inked!

It's raining it's pouring

So i've decided hands down 100% I want to move to Arizona! I'm so incredibly sick of all this crazy weather we have been getting. I know there are several out of state individuals that view this blog frequently and may not no what is going on. We're experiencing some of the worst flooding in more then a decade. Orting which is about 10 miles from us in the valley is expected to be under water according to what I heard on the news by morning. They have evacuated the whole town and a few others. Even South Prairie which is really close to us right down the hill is also under water. I didn't realize how bad it was until I just saw some photos online. I'm so glad we live up on the hill and don't have to worry to much about it. I have many friends though in the effected areas. Thankfully they have all made it to safer grounds. I wanted to post some photos so you can see some of what i'm talking about it's insane!

Down in Sumner
Here's a photo I took in April of my friend's family. They are standing under the bridge you can see in the back ground of the next photo
That's insane! My favorite park for taking photos is under water!

New years resolution #1

Besides losing a few pounds before my sister's wedding my main New Years Resolution is to be more organized. I admit I'm never been a very organized person. Over the last few days I've tackled my bed room closet and my dresser 5 bags of clothes and shoes I don't wear anymore are in my trunk waiting to be dropped off at the Goodwill tomorrow. I have gone through all of our piles and piles of junk mail ( I hate that stuff) on Saturday night I went through all of Alivia's toys putting all her baby toys away in a box for the possibility of baby #2 someday. Then I put up a shelf thing in our family room to place all the things she does play with. It was funny after I put it up she woke up and I brought her out to the family room and she just stared at it she didn't know what to think. Later this week I plan on going through the kitchen, my hall closets, and Alivia's bedroom. We'll see how much I can get done before heading to work. I wont be doing much cleaning in the evening all the new seasons of my TV shows are back on. Woo hoo I have at least one show a night thank goodness for my dvr I love that device! I'm crossing my fingers that we'll get a chance to take Livi down to Cannon Beach next month. We haven't been there since New Years of 2006. It's been far to long. I got an e-mail from the lodging company we stay with, they have a special going on right now $100 for 2 nights any of their rooms. What a steal! I'm trying to see if we can go for my birthday. It would be so fun. Ok I've rambled on enough like always enjoy the photos have a great week! One of my first attempts at being more organized

First post of '09

Last night my parent's watched Livi so Matt and I could go out on a date. We went to dinner and a movie. Matt just finished the Twilight series and he wanted to see Twilight again (he slept through parts at the midnight showing we went to in Nov.) it was nice to spend time together. We got another blast of snow Friday morning about 4" the roads were really icy last night when we were out, but thankfully this morning they were nice and dry. I've been feeling weird the last 2 weeks and I've self diagnosed myself with bronchitis. I'm going to see if I can get into the doctor Monday before work. I've got all the symptoms I just hope what ever it is Alivia doesn't catch. I'm glad I got around to getting her that flu shot. She get's her second boost of it on the 9th.
I haven't shared any really recent update on Livi lately so let me think what I can come up with. She's talking more duck, dog, purse, pretties, stop, no, mom (only a few times) dada, that, cup, this are her most common words. Her t's sound like d's most the time. Livi's blowing kisses and sometimes will give hugs. If you ask her where her blankie is she'll go get it or point to it. Then she has finally realized life is not fair and you don't always get your way. That's right she's now throwing tantrums! God help you if you take something away from her that she wants. No real tantrums in public yet. She's really into dancing it's so funny to watch her a lover of music just like daddy. Besides that she's just all over the place now getting into any and everything. Hope 2009 has started off well for you! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
