Since the weather was crummy this afternoon I took the kids to Fred Meyers and picked up a few items to make sensory bins. Gidian picked out a package of dinosaurs and Livi got a farm animal package. 2 bags of rice, some split peas and some beans we were set. Threw it all together in some tubs and the kids were entertained for hours!

Frogs
We got the kids a water table last week
and when ever we get a bit of nice weather they love to be playing with it. On Tuesday we had our friends, Brandon and Mandie over along with their son Landon. We filled up the table and let the kids play around. Mandie and I found three little frogs in the yard so we let the kids look at them. Livi my girly girl, who will never touch anything was actually picking them up and holding them. I was quite surprised by that.

A first
Tonight while eating dinner Gidian shoved a corn kernel up his nose and got it stuck. That was a first for us. Luckily after a phone call to the phone nurse she told me to cover his unclogged nostril and blow into his mouth, which then dislodged it. As soon as its out he said "All gone, all gone" and clapped. Glad I was able to get it out and it wasn't something bigger. Ohh the joys of parenthood.

Planes
After a 3 hour nap today we took advantage of the sunshine since it finally decided to make an appearance. Last week I had to go meet with my insurance agent to get business insurance (starting July 1st I'll be leasing my station at work, so I'll be running my own business) while I was there my agent gave the kids some airplanes. I put them together for them this evening and we had a good time throwing them around the yard. Livi kept getting her's stuck in the trees and thought it was pretty funny. I'm going to have to pick a few more of these up the kids really enjoyed them.
Children's Museum
On Friday the kids and I tagged along with my friend, Mandie and her son Landon to the Children's Museum. It was the first time we had ever been there. We arrived around eleven and it was a mad house. I seriously thought I was going to loose one of the kids there. Found out a few field trips were going on that morning. The kids spent most of the time splashing and playing in all the water tubs. Gidian kept trying to actually climb in, that boy loves anything to do with water activities. Around noon the place cleared out and it was so nice. So next time I'll remember to arrive around then. I think we'll be going up there for often both kids loved it.

4 year check up
Alivia
had her 4 year well child check up this morning. (Our insurance always makes us do it 6 months after birthdays, so annoying!) She weighed in at 44 lbs 8 oz and was 44" tall. 95th percentile for weight and height. We talked all week about her appointment and she was aware she'd be getting a few shots. So she went into today being very brave. Unfortunately I was unaware that she'd have to get a finger stick to collect blood to test her iron and four vaccines, I thought she was getting only two. She was not thrilled. Livi got through the finger prick alright then lost it when it came time for her shots. We got through it though and she got a clean bill of health and she can officially go to school next fall now that she's had all her vaccines.
After her appointment I promised her if she was brave and did a good job I'd take her to get something special. A little bribing never hurt anyone right? She wanted an Icee and popcorn from Target. So we made a quick trip to Target afterward. After her treat we headed to the Elementary school she'll be attending next year and brought them her updated vaccine record. Then we stopped at the library to get some book before heading home.
