Long weekend

Last weekend was a long one. Our salon participated in the Enumclaw Street Fair. It ran 9-8pm Friday and Saturday. I felt like I hardly saw my kiddos at all over the weekend. Which made me a little bummed. It was fun though to get out in the community and promote our salon more. We offered feather extension and hair tinsel at our booth. We were slammed, tons of people told us our booth seemed to be the busiest out off the 150+ vendors that were set up. The sunshine was out all weekend too which was a plus. Saturday we got into the high 80's (first time this year)
Sunday was low key, which I was thankful for. We hung around the house, did some yard work then spent the evening at my parents barbecuing and letting the kids splash around in the pool. It was nice to relax and spend time with my whole family.

Honoring a friend

I just wanted to share something I think is really special with all of you. I post a week and a half ago about the tragic death of my brother's good friend, Chad. Monday we all attended his memorial service, which was amazing. I can't believe the amount of people who were there. Chad had definitely impacted tons of people in his short life. Anywho, yesterday my brother, Kyle went to a tattoo parlor in Tacoma and got a tattoo in remembrance of Chad. What a neat way to honor his friend. The tattoo says ' I will honor in you, the light that dwells in me' Chad Albright 7-15

R.I.P Chad

Every morning before I get out of bed I check the news on my cell or my I-touch and this morning I read a breaking story about a fatality in our little town, that happened around 2am this morning. At the time the person had not been identified. My mom and I were running errands early and were talking about the tragic accident not knowing who the victim was. Then this afternoon got the sad news that the man who died was one of my brother's best friends, Chad. My heart just breaks for his family, my brother and all Chad's friends. Chad was an amazing guy and impacted so many people in his short life. He worked with the Spacial Ed kids at Enumclaw High school. Chad just resigned from the school so he could move to Arizona for a year to help some family members out who aren't doing to well. Chad was a real genuine guy and will be forever missed.

Modeling

On Sunday Livi modeled for Lil' Ladybug Creations. A high school friend of mine, Wendy makes adorable tutu shirts and hair accessories for little girls. She needed models so I offered up my cutie pie. Livi loved her tutu and at one point was running around telling everyone her name was Cinderella.

4th of July

Happy Fourth of July Everyone!!!
Hope everyone had a wonderful fourth! We did and let me tell you we had a busy day. This morning I took my kiddos to a parade down town in Enumclaw. Livi loves parades, Gidian also thought it was pretty neat. He started clapping along when the band was playing and was all smiles. After the parade the kids napped and Matt and I got things together to spend the afternoon/evening at Lake Tapps. Every year we go to our friends house on the lake. (Where we got married) We couldn't have asked for a better day weather wise. Got up to around eighty. Both kids got in their swim suits and life jackets and splashed around in the lake. They had a good time out there. Matt had to be to work at 9:30 pm tonight so we weren't able to stay for the fire work show over the lake. Livi and Gidian were both warn out and getting tired anyway.

Log show

The weekends not over, but so far it's been pretty jam packed. Matt and I both had Friday off so my mom watched Gidian so we could take Livi to see Cars 2 at the movie theater. She's been eager to see the movie for months. She loves everything Cars related. It was a cute movie. After the previews they did a short Toy Story movie which was really funny. Livi was very excited about that since she loves Toy Story as well. After the movie I went out with my girlfriends for drinks and dinner. It was nice to sit, chat without being interrupted.

I went into work briefly this morning to do an updo for a bridal party then snuck out after to take Livi to the Log Show parade. The last weekend in June our town has the annual Buckley Loggers Rodeo. They do the parade, street fair, carnival and of course all the events for the loggers. It's something fun most the town turns out for. After the parade we went home, ate lunch and took a nap. Then both kids and I walked back over and checked everything out in town. We finished the day off with some yard work and a yummy dinner. I feel like the weekend is over since we've done so much, but we still have tomorrow. Wonder what the day will hold?
