Vitamin D

The sunshine had been hard to come by around our neck of the woods, so when it's out we're trying to enjoy it. The first 'real' nice weather we had was two Friday's ago we got into the mid 50's. I put the kids in zip up and we played in the yard while Matt mowed the grass. I was even able to start weeding our flower beds when the kiddos were napping. Poor Gidian probably didn't even know what to think of the sunshine.

Tix family visit

I have lots of blogging to catch up on. My camera/laptop have a love/hate relationship so I've finally been able to load a months worth of photos. So here's what has been going on.

On April 7th Matt's best friend, Brandon and his family came home for a visit from Montana. Brandon and Mandie had a baby boy, Landon in September. It was so great finally being able to meet him! Matt was able to score a few nights off work to spend a lot of 'guy time' with his buddy. They were able to stay a week total and will be back in August. Can't wait to see what little Landon will be up to by then. Brandon, Landon & Mandie

Snow in April?

Yesterday the sun was out and we had temps in the high 50's. Livi and I were able to color with her side walk chalk and soak up some vitamin D. This morning I woke to Livi shouting that there was snow on the ground. I'm really starting to have a love/hate relationship with Washington lately. I'm ready for the warm temps and sunshine. The cold weather is becoming depressing. Fingers are crossed the sun is out on Easter. We have a big Easter egg hunt planned for the kiddos.

First ballet class

Alivia had her first ballet class tonight. She was so excited. We went out this morning and picked her up a pair of ballet slippers to wear this evening. I have to admit though I have 'That Kid' you know there's usually always one of them that doesn't fully listen and distracts the rest of the class. Yes, that was my daughter. She was constantly being reminded to stand on the line and to pay attention. The only thing I hate is she's the youngest in the class, but yet because she's so tall she looks a lot older then she is. So I think people seem to think because she's not as 'mature' as the older kids something is 'off' with my baby girl. I plan to make it known that she's 2 years younger then most the girls there next week. She had fun though so that's all the matters. I think this class will be good for her to learn how to listen to instruction and follow directions.

I apologize for all the cell phone photos lately. I've been taking tons of photos with my DSLR, but something is wrong and they wont load onto my laptop. So until I get my desktop computer up this is the best I can do.

Welcome home

On Sunday morning, 5 am to be exact a few of my friends and I picked up our good friend, Nick from the airport. He flew in from Alaska to pick up his fancy 2010 black Mustang GT. That he's been waiting 6 months for it to be shipped of from Germany. It was so nice having him here for a few days. It was the biggest hastle trying to get his car out of the Port of Tacoma. Nick and I spent 3+ hours on Monday morning trying to get it. Finally we did then trying to get it licensed was an even bigger pain in the butt. Nick's whole plan was to fly in get the car and leave asap to drive it back up to Alaska. It took us two day to get his registration e-mailed over from Germany. With the time difference he was making calls at 2 am trying to get in contact with someone over there that could help. This morning on the third attempt at the DOL the mustang was licensed and now Nick is on his 2,400 mile journey back to Alaska.

In between dealing with the car it was fun spending time with Nick and our other friends. He's like the older brother I never had. We've been friends since 7th grade.

Tomorrow Matt's best friend, Brandon and his family arrive in town for a week. They're stationed in Montana. It's been so nice being able to catch up with all our friends who live out of state lately.

We were actually able to go out for lunch on Sunday. Something we rarely do. My parents had Livi with them. So much easier to keep one kid occupied at a restaurant then two.

Sneak peek

This afternoon we had family photos taken. I was crossing my fingers and toes all the way down to the Windmill Gardens that the rain would stay away. It has been pouring for the last few days and was dumping last night. I thought for sure we'd have to reschedule. Thankfully there wasn't a single rain drop and the sun even made an appearance a time or two. I got a sneak peek tonight and wanted to share it.
