Salon moving day

After 11 years we are moving salon locations. Today was moving day, on top of the salon being open today it was hectic. We had so much packing to do, but it was busy all day so we'd try to pack a few boxes here and there between clients. After work I grabbed the kids and more boxes and we spent the rest of the day packing and moving things to our new location. It's only a few blocks away so it was a pretty easy move. Our neighbors brought their truck and horse trailer up and we loaded everything in there. Two of our clients brought us dinner tonight and tons of desserts and drinks. There was so much food and it was all so yummy! Still lots of last minute things to do, but we'll be open for business on Tuesday February 1st. I'll post photos once it is complete the salon is amazing, my dad has done a wonderful job building everything for us.

This morning Matt took Livi out shopping, while Gidian and I stayed home. It's amazing how much I can get done in a short time with Livi gone. I popped Ian in his highchair with some snacks while I cleaned the house and did some laundry.

After cleaning I got out the Spiderman car my brother got Ian for Christmas so he could play with that. It got confiscated the day after Christmas because Livi hurt her brother. Figured while she was gone he could enjoy it.

Twi-con

On Thursday my wonderful, husband scored two free passes to the Twilight convention in Seattle. He said they'd be at will call and if I wanted to go they were there. I called a few friends up to see who was available and wanted to go. My friend, Rebecca jumped at the opportunity. So today the two of us spent a kid free day up in Seattle. Chatting it up with some of the celebs from the Twilight movies and listening to Q&A sessions, checking out vendor booths, participating in dorky games. It was so fun though to get out and just have fun. Then you mix in a drink from the bar and grill across the street made for good times. Wishing I could post and say I met Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner, but that wasn't the case lol. Totally felt like back in my middle school days fan girling it up like Becca and I did with 'N sync haha.

Birthday planning mode

Sorry it's been a while since I last updated. Been pretty busy lately and our schedules have been weird. We're in the process of changing salon locations right now and will be moved in and ready for business February first. My parents have been working their butts off to get the place going and it looks amazing. I'll post tons of before and after photos once it's complete. Eleven days to go and we still need to pack up the old salon.

Can you believe in 6 weeks Gidian will be ONE! Where on earth did the last year go? I'm in full swing birthday party mode. I'm doing a Mod Monkey theme (photo below) I did the same for Livi's first birthday, but changed the colors around to make it more girlie. Ian's will be turquoise and yellow accents. This lady, Ashley I know from my mommy message boards and get together did the same theme for her son's first birthday and has tons of decorations I can borrow. I have his first year video montage complete up until this stage of his life and it makes me in tears every time I watch it.

I don't think it will be to much longer until Ian starts walking. He's standing up holding on to furniture and walking around it. Then he'll let go and balance for a short time before falling or catching himself.

Painting

When I got home from work this evening, Livi asked if we could paint on a canvas my friend, Tiffany got her for her birthday. I told her if she picked up her toys that were scattered everywhere and ate her dinner we would. So after dinner was complete we set up to paint. I grabbed an old maternity shirt and threw it on over her clothes in case we had some spillage and I let her make her master piece. We've been working a lot with her on colors, she pretty much knows them all so tonight i was mixing paints together to get other colors. She thought it was the neatest thing and kept asking for more colors.

Flu shot

This morning I ran both kiddos down to our Pediatrician's office to get Gidian the second part of his flu shot. if you're under three they break it up into two separate doses. I hate bringing both kids there at the same time. I'm usually a mess by the time I get out of there because Livi doesn't listen and likes to touch everything possible. Which grosses me out to no end. Matt worked last night and didn't get home until right before we left and headed to bed, so both kids had to go with me. I must say after a pep talk with Livi in the car and a bit of bribery we were in and out in less the ten minutes. (Never happens there) She was so good sat next to me, didn't touch anything. I was quite pleased and Gidian didn't cry or anything while getting his shot. Here's to hoping every appointment from here on out goes that smoothly.
