Welcome Leela

My good friend, Susan and her husband, Pat welcomed their second baby into the world this morning. Leela was born at 6:16am. Susan had gone to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning and they sent her home. A few hours later Miss. Leela made her quick debut. There wasn't anytime for them to get to the hospital so she was born at home, Pat delivered her before the paramedics arrived. I was suppose to be at the hospital with them when she was born, but that didn't happen. I'm so happy both mama and baby are happy and healthy. I spent some time with them at the hospital this afternoon. I will admit I got a slight case of 'baby fever' holding that precious bundle. Congrats Susan, Pat and big brother Tucker!

2 year stats

The way out insurance works is the kids get yearly visit, beginning after 18 months. So all their yearly visits are on their half birthdays, which annoys me. I had to take Gidian to the pediatrician twice last month so I have his stats.

Weight: 34 lbs 8 oz

Height: 36" even

Gidian is wearing 3 T clothing and a size 8 shoe. My little monster is huge!

Gymnastics

Miss. Livi started gymnastics today. My brother's girlfriend has a 3 year old little girl, Jaidan and she's been doing gymnastic class for a few months and they invited Livi to try it out. She loved it and wants to go back. So next week we'll be signing her up. It's once a week for an hour. They they also have open play twice a week for kids to run wild for a few hours. Gymnastics is definitely more her thing. Ballet was a huge flop last year. I wasn't able to be there the whole time because of work, but I was able to get there for the last half of the class. She listened well and did everything they asked of her. Livi wasn't a big fan of the balance beam, but she'll eventually get the hang of it. Her favorite part was jumping into the foam block pit. She thought that was pretty neat. Then was bummed when another class was using the trampoline so she couldn't. I didn't get any photos, but I'll try and get some next time. Total mommy fail I forgot my camera. I never do that.

Pre-K

On Tuesday morning Livi got registered for early kindergarten. Is she really old enough for school? Where does time go? She wont meet the birthday cut off to go to actual Kindergarten, but our district offers free pre-k for kids who's birthdays fall between Sept. 1st and Dec. 31st. It is five days a week and three hours a day. Livi is so excited, but not thrilled she has to wait for another 6 months.

Birthday Party

This evening we threw a small birthday party for Gidian. My family came over for dinner, cake and presents. I put together a Cars theme birthday party. Gidian is all about Pixar Cars he seemed excited about it all. I had a cake make for him by a friend of a friend (she made Livi's birthday cake too) it turned out better then I expected. Still can't believe my baby boy is two.

Happy 2nd Birthday Gidian! Hard to believe my baby boy is another year older, feels like I was just holding him in my arms for the very first time.
